Home & Community

HOME

At Craft-ED we believe that it is the parent or carer's responsibility to be involved in their children's education as much as the school's.  Children learn best in a caring and loving environment where they are valued and rewarded. By families or carers taking time to participate in creative activities they can spend quality time together; relax, have fun and communicate. Education must be part of everyday life and not just linked to curriculum; an example may be talking about the food chain on a woodland walk or discussing animal habitats during a trip to the zoo.  In order to ensure a sustainable planet for the future, we must educate and inform our children of issues such as health and well being, social, third world, community and environmental topics.

Craft-ED at HomeWe have designed Educational Paper Craft products around these everyday events.  Each supplies the resources to make a record of an outing or an occasion, and importantly include notes to the adult of suggested National Curriculum-linked discussion points and suitable website addresses.  These notes give the adult the confidence to know that the points they discuss with the child will naturally enhance the child’s understanding of subjects they will be covering at school.

"Parents and the home environment they create are the single most important factor in shaping their children’s well-being, achievements and prospects".

(Every Parent Matters, 2007)

Every child, and indeed every family, deserves the opportunity of achieving the very best.  We are passionate in our belief that education begins at home and strive to support this through inspiring and enabling parents to engage with their children in a range of exciting activities.

As well as our Live & Learn appealing Educational Paper Craft products, we also stock a wide range of additional craft products to support these activities at home.

COMMUNITY

Just as life in the home environment provides the start of the learning process, Craft-ED realises the importance and the positive role the wider community plays in the upbringing and education of our children. We work with a broad range of community groups and organisations where we deliver a growing number of activities and workshops supported by our educational programmes and craft packs. Typically these might include:

  Family Learning Groups

  Clubs e.g. Brownies, Cubs, Scouts

•  Church groups and associations

•  Youth centres

Community clubs such as the Women’s Institute.

  Care Homes and Centres

Our programmes and activities provide an engaging and exciting way for children and adults from all walks of life and the communities in which they live to communicate, tolerate and learn together while supplementing and complimenting the work done at school.

Please contact us for information on how we can deliver our products and services to your community.
