Our Educational Paper Craft Pad can be used by children and adults to make a range of projects including cards, mini-books, scrapbook pages, home decor and gifts. It is 12 x 12” (30.5 x 30.5cm) in size and includes 24 sheets of double-sided solid coloured cardstock and 4 sheets of double-sided patterned paper. It also includes instructions for 4 projects each with a step-by-step guide and importantly includes notes of suggested curriculum-linked discussion points and suitable website addresses. These notes give the educator the confidence to know that the points they discuss with the children will naturally enhance their understanding of subjects they will be covering at school.
The Educational Paper Craft Pad can be used by a parent with a child in the home, as part of a crafting workshop in the community for small groups of children and/or adults over a period of weeks and in schools. Workshops can be delivered by an organisation’s chosen educator or by a Live & Learn Consultant, tailored to meet the needs of the participants and any specific time constraints.
The Educational Paper Craft Pad is used as an integral component part of the consumables element of 21st Century Schools and 21st Century Family Learning Modules. When it is used in this capacity it is intended for any leftovers in the pad, after making the project, to be taken home to encourage links to home and provide the opportunity for further curriculum-linked paper craft projects to be made.
The key features of the Educational Paper Craft Pad include:
• a comprehensive range of coloured cardstock and patterned paper to enable an educator and child to make paper craft projects together • 4 project ideas with step-by-step instructions and curriculum-linked discussion points • the resources for projects to be made that naturally link to Literacy, Mathematics and Art and Design
The key benefits include:
• encouraging an educator and child to spend time together, communicate and have fun • each project that is made naturally links to Literacy, Mathematics and Art and Design. Through an educator working with a child to make a project the child will be using key speaking and listening skills and they may write captions and understand how to communicate to a reader. The physical assembly of a project provides a real opportunity to use and apply number, shape, space and measure. The child will be exploring visual and tactile elements, including those of colour, pattern and texture, line and tone, form and space • enhancing a child’s understanding of subjects they are covering at school
